Garfield Parents, There is a lunch menu change for Tuesday, Feb. 25th. The menu will be: Kielbasa dog on a bun, french fries, black-eyed peas, sandwich, and salad bar.

Garfield Parents, This Friday, Feb. 28th, at 12:45, there will be a dodgeball tournament for students. A concession stand will be open. Unfortunately, due to limited space in the gym, parents will not be able to attend. The information is posted on Garfield STEAM Academy's Facebook page.

Garfield Parents, Next Tuesday, March 4th, and Wednesday, March 5th, the school will administer vision screening to all students at Garfield. Beginning in the 2007-2008 school year, it is required that the parent or guardian of each student enrolled in kindergarten at a public school in this state shall provide certification to school personnel that the student passed a vision screening within the previous 12 months or during the kindergarten school year. Students enrolled in first or third grade at a public school in this state shall provide, within thirty days of the beginning of the school year, certification to school personnel that the student passed a vision screening within the previous 12 months. The forms to opt out of this screening will be sent home with each student and posted on Garfield STEAM Academy's Facebook page. Only fill this out if you do not want your student screened.

Garfield Parents, We are extending the spring fundraiser's deadline to Friday, March 7th, due to the numerous snow days that kept us out of school.

Garfield Parents, There is a lunch menu change for Thursday, Feb. 20th. The menu will be taco salad, spanish rice, and ranchero beans.

Garfield Parents, Unfortunately, the weather isn't cooperating for the Sweetheart Dance. We will be postponing the dance again. The new date is Thursday, Feb. 27th, from 6-7 p.m.

Garfield Parents, Today, Friday, Feb. 14th, is an early release day. Students get out at 2 pm today.

Garfield Parents, Tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 14th, is Hat Day. Students can pay $1 to wear a hat of their choice brought from home. This fundraiser will help raise money for Garfield's Special Olympians. This is only on Fridays. Students will pay in the gym when they arrive at school. Also, tomorrow is popcorn day; students can purchase popcorn for 50¢ each. Garfield Parents, The girls' Sweetheart Dance has been rescheduled for Thursday, February 20th, from 6-7, due to the bad weather that is expected to occur next week. The flyer has been posted to Garfield STEAM Academy's Facebook page.

Garfield Parents, Students will be taking classroom group photos and spring photos on Wednesday, February 5. No need to send money for the spring photos. You will receive a proof in about 3 weeks; however, the group photos are prepaid. The information was sent home in the Thursday folder.
