Sand Springs Public Schools has been informed the Corp of Engineers will be increasing the flow of water out of the Keystone dam steadily through 2:00 this afternoon, May 22, 2019. By 2:00, 215,000 cfs will be released. This has the potential to cause major flooding, particularly in low lying areas around the Arkansas River. Please stay informed. The City of Sand Springs will be providing updates on their FaceBook page and we will be updating our parents and patrons as it pertains to our school sites and bus transportation. These updates will be posted on the official Sand Springs Public Schools FaceBook page as well as phone calls and texts to our families. Our primary goal is to keep people informed and our students safe. The National Weather Service is predicting additional rain with possible severe storms, which we will be watching carefully. Because of the potential for flooding, students may be picked up after 1:30 p.m. without an attendance penalty today; however, school will continue as normal for the school day.
As a reminder, please keep your children away from any standing water in flood areas. This includes streams, creeks, rivers, and other other running water. Banks along the river are not safe.

Ms. Butler says: The 3rd -Link Up concert- was a huge success. 🎶😃🎶This year’s concert-The Orchestra Moves- had Can Can dancers, a Toreador singer, and a song from Brazil sung in Portuguese. Wow! I am so proud of the 3rd graders-who behaved, sang, and played wonderfully. Thank you to the 3rd grade teachers and Ms Libby... and the amazing Tulsa Symphony. We would not be able to go without the continued support from the Sand Springs Symphony League ...We are very grateful for them.
If your child receives speech-language services, please watch their backpack for their summer packet. It will be coming home this week or early next week.
