At this month’s Sand Springs Board of Education meeting, the board recognized employees and community members who have gone above and beyond for Sand Springs Public Schools.
Lissa Chidester - Communications Director
The board awarded SSPS Communications Director Lissa Chidester with the Sandite Coin of Excellence. Chidester was nominated for her recent work communicating the bond proposals to Sand Springs voters. She was nominated by Superintendent Sherry Durkee, who writes, “[Chidester] is thoughtful, methodical, and deliberate in her approach. She stays beyond reproach and carefully answers any and all patron questions in close collaboration with our team. During the bond campaign, Lissa was in her element. She was tireless in her endeavors making sure every ‘I’ was dotted and ‘T’ was crossed.”
Erik Stuckey - Community Partner
Erik Stuckey received the Sandite Spirit Award in recognition of his continued support of CBMS and the district. Stuckey was nominated by CBMS principal Angelia Noel. In her nomination form, Noel writes, “You know that moment when you’re planning an event and realize you need to call in an ally to get the job done? That’s where Erik Stuckey comes in. He will make it happen, whether it’s waffle math, setting up a nine square game, or shopping for food for hundreds of people. He has a spirit fueled by selflessness and turns each challenge into an opportunity to come to the rescue.”
Kerri Stuckey - Clyde Boyd Middle School
The board presented Kerri Stuckey with the Sandite Pacesetter Award. She was nominated by CBMS principal Angelia Noel for her work at the school. Whenever Stuckey is given a project, she is meticulous and efficient. In her nomination form, Noel writes that Stuckey is “an unwavering source of encouragement and motivation.” While she has recently taken on a new role at Central Administrative Services, there is no doubt that Stuckey has had a huge impact on the students, staff, and families at CBMS.
Cassidy Wion - Finance Specialist
The board honored Cassidy Wion with the Sandite Pacesetter Award. Nominated by his colleague Dawne Edelman, Wion was recognized for continued excellence in his role.
