SAND SPRINGS, Okla. – Charles Page High School senior Reese Wood has been named an Academic All-State honoree by the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence, recognizing him as one of the top 100 high school seniors in the state.
Wood, a standout student involved in drama, vocal music, and filmmaking, has left a lasting impact at Charles Page High School through his creativity and dedication. His recognition as an Academic All-State honoree is a testament to his exceptional academic performance, leadership, and passion for the arts.
“All of the teachers are suddenly cheering for me whenever I’m walking to my classes,” Wood shared, reflecting on the overwhelming support from his school community. "I didn't realize how much of a big deal it was, so yeah, I'm super excited about that."
Heather Miller, Wood’s AP English Literature teacher, praised his character and achievements, saying, “Think of all the traits of a successful human who betters the world around them through their presence, their abilities, and their acts of service. Then, super-boost those traits and stitch all those super-boosted traits together, and that is Reese Wood. I am so proud that we are able to call Reese Wood a Sandite, and I am so grateful I have had the chance to know him and see the amazing things he is capable of.”
Wood plans to continue his passion for filmmaking at the University of Tulsa, where he will pursue a degree in film studies. A gifted filmmaker, Wood showcases his talent on the YouTube channel, Carboxyl Group, where he collaborates with classmates to create and share short films. His creative vision and storytelling skills have earned him admiration from peers and educators alike.
The Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence established the Academic All-State program to honor the state's most outstanding students based on academic achievement, leadership, and community involvement. Wood’s recognition places him among the best and brightest in Oklahoma.
Charles Page High School and the entire Sand Springs community celebrate Wood’s incredible accomplishment and look forward to seeing what he achieves next.
