At the September Sand Springs Board of Education meeting, the board unanimously approved of redistricting for the purposes of school board elections.
School Board District boundaries have been redrawn to reflect new population data and shifting populations. This redistricting slightly shifts the district boundaries for board wards, making the populations more even in each ward.
Redistricting happens every 10 years after the federal census, and this redistricting was scheduled to take place in 2020. However, the census was delayed due to COVID-19.
